Safety

At Blush Mini Spa, we believe that in addition to a welcoming environment, we strive to create a spa experience that is clean and safe.

Here are some of our procedures that will make sure your time at our spa is the best and safest experience it can possibly be:

  • Toxins - Many nail services create a hazardous environment where you're breathing in chemicals and dust that can be harmful to your health, and to our staff. Because of this, we've opted to use a non-toxic polish system called Dazzle Dry which is free of 21 chemicals commonly found in nail polishes. We've also decided that at this time we won't be offering services that involve the creation of harmful dust particles including extensions and ANC powders.

  • Gluten Free - Since gluten in products can be absorbed through the skin, this can make individuals with gluten allergies, sensitivities, or Celiac disease especially concerned about getting spa services. We have spoken directly with the company that engineered the Dazzle Dry nail polish system and have confirmed that every component of the system is gluten free. We also carry Eucerin lotion as an option during services for these clients.  Feel free to reach out with any further questions about this and if we don't have the answer, we'll be happy to find it for you!

  • Sterile Tools - Safety is key, so sterile instruments are of the utmost importance to us. Wherever possible, you'll see us choosing to use single-use items like nail files and cuticle pushers that will be discarded after each client (or you're welcome to take them home with you!). For metal tools that are reused between clients like clippers or cuticle nippers, we use stainless steel tools that we can sterilize immediately after your service.  Our owner is a former lab scientist and she has developed a stringent plan for sterilizing tools in excess of what's required by New York state to make sure that all of our clients are safe and comfortable. Rest assured that even for our vulnerable clients who have diabetes or other health concerns, the tools we use on you will always be sterile.

  • Cleaning Surfaces - As your service is ending, you'll see our team begin our cleaning procedure. We'll wipe down every surface with sterilizing wipes, take away your used tools, clean up water bowls with a thorough wash and sterile wipe, and after you leave we'll even spray down the chair you were sitting in with sterilizing spray. At Blush, we take extra steps to make sure your wellness comes first.
